Research
As a research technician I’m involved in multiple research projects where we try to characterize the tumor microenvironment (TME) of different cancer types, and how the TME influences cancer progression. We do this using IHC, (multiplex) IF, flow cytometry, and cell cultures. Aside from this, I’m also responsible for the generation of patient derived organoids which we use to do functional studies.

I completed my Bachelor’s degree Biomedical Science at the Hogeschool Leiden in 2019. During my final year, I did a 9-month internship in the group of Noel de Miranda, where I researched the presence of neoantigen-specific Tcells in low mutation-burden colorectal cancer. Following my graduation, I remained in the group of Noel de Miranda where I expanded my knowledge of tumor immunology and gained experience with a range of in vitro techniques. More recently, I also joined the group of Jessica Roelands, broadening my expertise to include research on the tumor microbiome.
