My research

As a PhD candidate, I study the tumor immune microenvironment in colorectal cancer (CRC), particularly focus on innate lymphoid cells (ILCs). My research investigates how immune populations, including ILCs and other unconventional lymphocyte populations in mismatch repair-deficient (MMRd) CRCs. By combining single-cell sequencing, multiplex immunofluorescence and functional experiments, I aim to better understand the contribution of these immune populations to anti-tumor immunity and their potential relevance to cancer immunotherapy.

CV

I obtained both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Jilin University, China. During my Bachelor's degree, I studied Veterinary Medicine, which provided me with a broad background in biomedical sciences and disease mechanisms. During my Master's studies, I focused on the development of novel anti-inflammatory drugs and investigated their mechanisms of action. This experience sparked my interest in immunology and translational research. I subsequently joined Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC) as a PhD candidate under the supervision of Prof. Noel de Miranda, where I investigate the tumor immune microenvironment in colorectal cancer. My current work focuses on understanding the roles of ILCs in anti-tumor immunity by using single-cell, spatial and functional approaches.
